Tennis Tournament 2009

Impression by Steven Reynaert

Cernum Open returned in full glory to gravel this year, on a rather sunny afternoon somewhere in East-East-Flanders.
The weather was pretty good so as a results of this, single matches were played instead of doubles, giving each player plenty of freedom to explore their own (sometimes rather funny and weird ) strategies.

Although Cernum Open is initially about having fun, a subtle smell of competition always hangs in the air.
In order to keep everything fair, everyone was divided into two competitions. 1 for ‘beginners’ and 1 for the ‘superiors’. Each competition was again divided into two subgroups in which 4 contestants were faced off again each other in nail-biting, breathtaking matches.
Eventually, in each competition, the first two off each subgroup were pitted again each other to decide who would rise, and who would fall. Below are the results of these finals.

Advanced
1 Hugo
2 Werner
3 Gilles
4 Bart

Beginners
1 StevenP
2 Yves
3 Anneleen
4 Michael

Eitherway, thumbs up for everyone!!
Big thanks to Renaat and Mario for the photos.
